Lines of Communication

This information is provided to you to facilitate communication between home and the college. Most issues at a large college like St Joseph’s Catholic College can be resolved very quickly if directed to the correct staff member.

 

To assist you and your daughter, the table below details the lines for effective communication within the college.

Please note that the college office/reception hours are 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Student Wellbeing

First

Issues relating to specific subjects, learning and teaching, which include assignments and tests, homework, resources and equipment, are directed to the class teacher in the first instance

 

First

Issues relating to student wellbeing, illness and notes, issues at home, uniform requirements, school planner, issues with public transport, student health, day to day arrangements are directed to your daughter’s Pastoral Leader in the first instance

If it is a specific learning difficulty question you may wish to consult with the Leader of Learning Support (Ms Tracy Simpson) who is also the teacher in charge of Disability Provisions

At this stage you may wish to involve the College Counsellor (Mrs Christine Hain)

If it is a question specific to careers, TAFE, work placement, university entrance you may wish to consult the Careers Advisor (Mrs Christine Wilkinson)

The Leader of Student Wellbeing (Mrs Cathy Toby), who works with the Year Leaders, for issues in relation to student management, discipline issues, detentions, student progress, absences etc

The Leader of Learning and Teaching (Mrs Alex McArdle), who works with the Leaders of Learning, for issues in relation to college curriculum, student illness and misadventure, student assessment, NESA requirements, reporting etc.

Assistant Principal who works in conjunction with the Leader of Student Wellbeing on all areas of the student wellbeing

Assistant Principal who works in conjunction with the Leader of Learning and Teaching on all areas of the college curriculum and learning and teaching

  • Reception: 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday
  • Student services: including sick bay, late arrivals, early departures
  • College Newsletter: ‘Joeys Journal’ is published every fortnight.  It is emailed to families and posted on the college website.
  • Enrolments: Mrs Bernadette Lee

  • School Fees: Issues in regard to billing, payment and receipting of school fees: Ms Nicole Murphy
  • Library: Mrs Karen Powers 
  • Sport: Issues relating to sport to the teacher or coach of the team in the first instance then to the Leader of PDHPE (Ms Janelle Smith)
  • Representative Sport Coordinator: Mrs Debbie Northey
  • Canteen: Mrs Sharon Short
  • Uniform shop hours: Monday and Friday 8.00am -10.00am
