St Joseph's Catholic College East Gosford

Year 8 Reflection Day is part of our faith formation opportunities at St Joseph’s. This reflection day is special as it is facilitated by our Year 10 Youth Ministry Class who spend Term 3 learning youth ministry and leadership skills that help them to plan and run this day for our Year 8 students. This year’s chosen theme was ‘Peace’ and our Year 10 leaders did a wonderful job weaving this theme throughout the day’s activities. Highlights from this week’s reflection day included the whole group joining in some frenetic ‘ice-breaker’ games, hearing the messages of peace in action from the Noah’s Ark story and The Parable of the Good Samaritan, and listening to two of our Year 10 leaders sharing their own personal testimonies. Our day finished with a liturgy, with some contemplative music from our Year 10 leaders. Year 8 students wrote messages of peace for their classmates and created a colourful rainbow with them all. This Year 8 Reflection Day was an amazing community building day for our Year 8 cohort #joeys #year8 #reflectionday #peace ... See MoreSee Less
